August 12 is jubilantly celebrated throughout Siam as the Mother's Day. Siam is known for Thailand in modern days. It is a day when Her Majesty the Queen Mom Rajawongse Sirikit Kittiyakara, the queen consort of Bhumibol Adulyadej, King (Rama IX) of Thailand was born at the home of Lord
Vongsanuprabhand, her maternal grandfather.
Born in 1932, the Queen is the eldest daughter
and the third child of Prince Nakkhatra Mangkala Kitiyakara, the son of Prince Kitiyakara Voralaksana, and Mom Luang Bua Sanidvongs. Her name 'Sirikit', which was gifted by the King Prajadhipok, connotes to 'the Greatness of Kitiyakara'. And thus, to the tongue of many Thais, the queen is revered as Sirikit Kittiyakara.
Her Majesty the Queen has always remained as a slogan of the eternal and immortal human idol of perfect benevolence for her diverse charitable hand that reached most of the unreached. Her proficient energy in revitalizing the Thai's unique folk arts and culture has captured the heart and soul of the devoted citizenry. She has been the most devoted ambassador of His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej's project and sustained its life by reaching the most far-flung remote beside her own altruistic masterpiece of patronage. Thus, this marriage of noble equations of charity that still remains abiding and illustrious made Thai, derive a new luminous title: The Mother of all Thais.
