Buddha Monthon

Originated from Sanskrit Buddha Monthon, meaning Buddha Mándala or “Buddha’s Sphere” is a Buddhist Park located in Nakhon Pathom province of Thailand, west of Bangkok.

The park was the brainchild of Thailand’s Prime Minister Phibunsongkhram and was created in 1957. It covers an area of 40 hectares (2500 rai in Thai). A 15.87 (52 foot) high Buddha statue (same as the one in Thimphu presented by the people of Thai to Bhutan), believed to be the highest standing Buddha in the world is the main centre of attraction here.  The Buddha was crafted by the hand of a notable art professor Silpa Bhirasri.

The King of Thailand, His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej named it Phra Si Sakaya Dasabalayan Prathan Buddhamonthon Sudassana, which literally means 'the Graceful Statue of the Shayamuni who was of the Tenfold Power, the Presiding Buddha of the Beautiful Phutthamonthon'.

The surroundings were very calm and serene. The air that blew sang divine prayers and freed my mind from tensions. I have even forgotten about my major assignments that were left incomplete at home.

It was a place worth visiting in my life.
I have a few snaps of the day:

Hey, I am going now...

Excuse me! What did you say...

I don't care. I got the way anyway.

Let all the sentient beings be free of suffering.

Meditation is a medication for the disturbed mind.

Chapsumchoe... Please bless me too.

Doedro tham chen ranggi phama yin..All the sentient beings are our parents

Hum...This monument is the nice creation..

I am satisfied now....

The peace of the place has made me numb to realize that I was hungry.

    1. Thank you ana Karma for the comments. It is a nice place to visit. The Thimphu Buddha is said to have replicated from the one here. The only difference is its size. It is bigger and taller here. Thimphu has smaller one.
Thank you for visiting my page.
